Kingston Princeton Day 1

First day on a new larger painting showing views from the Lincoln Highway through Kingston, a small town a few miles north of Princeton. These are the preliminary sketches - it will be a collage. I think I'll use collage as a method of tying together the pieces in the series. See the Clinton Avenue Baptist Church the last painting completed in the series. You can see other work in the series by clicking on the Lincoln Highway label to th right.

The area was an important stage coach stop and also where the Deleware & Raritan canal started. The bridge has a long history as well - the original destroyed by George Washington after the battle of princeton - this one dates from the 1700's.
